Relation is an intangible parameter (cleverly kept it that way) so that human beings are taught not to tag them with a price; No matter it is with a family, friend, customer or a non-biological thing.
In India, it is an overly hyped , overly tabood , & overly protected word. We don’t count how much a relation costs & one fine day we ask,” where is all wealth in the country gone?” ….. Come on, you distributed it all these years !
What I am writing is bold & easy to oppose difficult to defend paragraph, but truths are always this bitter. I will come straight to the point.
I watch a lot of national geographic, A lot of Savanna, a lot of Weildebeasts. I often wonder what happens to that herd when a lion kills a new born calf. They seem to be busy looking it getting eaten & chewing the stuff in mouth. I know they have short term memory loss so next day, the mother forgets that she had a baby yesterday. The (remaining) lifes go on with a bit of sorrow in the air (or may be in eye of a spectator human being). I don’t know.
I simply can’t resist to compare this with human incidences. Weildebeasts have similarly strong social bond, even more smarter understanding of earth (they travel 4000km without GPS & don’t die for eating wrong grass), then why humans make their life so complicated when a 7 year boy stands fourth competing with other 7 year boys in mock swimming race held in half portion of local tank in some corner of a city in Haryana on this god’s country on earth which itself is an invisible dot in the ever infinite & expanding universe !!!
The family relations are like gifts from heaven straight in our pocket; not to be touched… The friends relations are our own nobel prize winning achievments, & other relations are mostly eventually a disaster. Creation, maintenance & memorizing these relational events takes half of time, energy, money & brain of our whole life.
My problem is not that I don’t like people, but the problem is the loss of a dynamic individualistic soul for the creation of a molecule of souls visible to & from nothing !
Not only in India, relations is a celebrated sign of culture, social structure & parameter of all behaviours in many countries. Strangly, all our behaviours, abilities, perceptions become exactly opposite when found in solitude???
How come a person very particular & perfect socially tends NOT to follow discipline when ‘Casted Away’? How come overly polite, almost frightened daughter tends to ride round the globe on a sailboat when alone?? Were they doing because they are perfect or all show for the people to remember him as perfect guy???
Mind you, the relations are taking huge toll. This Overly pampered word is not designed to protect us. It sucks all finite resources along with infinite resources of will power, passion, hobby & all physical & mental abilities of a human being.
Relax, I am not saying that it is time for war & kiosk…
But I feel we count it tangible for a moment & put a price tag of compromises each time our behavior or decisions are affected by relational emotion….
Anyway most dads on earth are unhappy about their kids, most couples are suffering for their counterparts, most teenagers are loosing individual opportunities & following friend herds, most bosses are unhappy for their employees, most employees are unhappy for their bosses, most citizens are unhappy about their government, most devotees are unhappy about their gurus, And so on……
And look at the list carefully, all above examples are famous for ‘relation’ constantly advocated as holy !
If by a decision of someone, you waste 10 Rupees or one hour… I bet you will count the loss & scold that person, I feel there is no harm in evaluating how deep a hole is dug in foundation of our individual life goals by a sentence ‘We have to do this for Relation !’
